Shri Durga Shiksha Niketan Mahavidyalaya

The Samiti did not stop its thought and felt that Devri
Rukhara, Bkt. demands Degree College in the area. The Boys and
Girls of the area have had been taking admissions in the various
colleges in Lucknow. They were to pay more, have had ensure
journey etc. and hence many students failed to attain higher
education. The Samiti observed all this problems and held it’s meeting
to open the college.
During 2007 Shri Jagjeevan Prasad and his beloved wife laid
the foundation stone on 00th Jan 2007. A magnificent building was
constructed within a shortest possible time. Its inaugural ceremony
was conducted by Shri Ram Narayan Sahu, a Member of Parliament
(Rajya Sabha) on 15th August 2007. The Samiti approached through
proper channel to the University of Lucknow for its affiliation. The
Lucknow University gave its affiliation in the subject for Arts and Commerce subjects. In Arts faculty we have permitted to conduct Hindi, English, Pol. Science, Sociology, Ancient Indian History, Home Science and all the subjects/papers concerned to Commerce.
Ms. Dr. Veena Rani Gupta, M.A. (Sanskrit, Education), M. Ed., Ph.D. has been appointed as principal of this Mahavidyalaya by Lucknow University. Other Qualified teachers for various subjects have also been employed.
The students pass in good division. People of the area are attracted and are approaching to take admission of their wards. It is hoped that this Mahavidyalaya will certainly raise educational standard of the area by giving better training.
The Samiti has a positive thought and hence under the demand and pressure has planned to start B.Ed. training NCTE Jaipur, Rajasthan is being approached for affiliation. If the college gets the affiliation, the B.Ed. classes will be conducted during the session 2011-12. This affiliation case is being pursued and hoped that the Samiti will get success in its approach.
